We have no idea how old these caves are, but the stone work continues on from the 4-story medieval moat tower above, so we’re presuming it might be from the middle ages.

Maybe not, though. Who knows?

Preuilly-sur-claise was once a Roman settlement called Prulliacum, so wine drinking has always been a part of life here

Last night we were too exhausted to make a meal, so we devoured olives, dark chocolate, and wine in bed. It was so very very perfect!
